A Quick Chat with MTA records

We caught up with the guys at MTA records to talk about the event coming to London next month. They won’t be revealing the line-up until the day, but it’s ridiculously large! Musically there is something on offer for everyone: An equal mix of house, dnb & bass, with some hiphop, garage and techno thrown in for good measure. All “basses” will be covered!

What’s going to be different about the MTA all day event to previous one done before?
It’s the first event we’ve done during the day and it’s the first event we’ve ever collaborated with a big promoter. Going from The Nest to a full on day & night party is completely next level, it’s something we haven’t done before.

What’s the quality of entries been like for the mix competition?
Varied and very decent, it’s going be hard picking a winner!

What forthcoming releases on the label have you got coming out?
Our next release is a debut album from new artist Moody Good (formerly one half of 16bit) which has received fantastic worldwide support. Shortly after that Knytro will be releasing a free EP and then Kove is releasing his new single ‘Way We Are’ which features Melissa Steel. More music in the very near future from Moko, TCTS, MANT, Nero and Dream Mclean.

Where can we catch the MTA artists this summer?
Literally all over UK and Europe. Label owners Chase & Status will be headlining a few festivals and are doing a residency at Amnesia, Ibiza every Tuesday including special guests + MTA artists. Expect to see the MTA roster at Glasto, Creamfields, Global Gathering, FOUND, Secret Garden Party, Lovebox, V Festival and many more.

Tell us something about the label that not many people will know?
The label is called More Than Alot aka MTA, the name of Chase & Status’ debut album.

If we were to walk into the MTA office what would we see…
A lot of chocolate, tea, vinyl, messy desks and you would also hear a lot of good music. There’s also a wall covered with beautiful press shots in frames of all of our artists.
