Another act that has been surfing the wave of the UK house renaissance; Secondcity’s skill for creating instantly recognisable classics has positioned him at the front of the pack. He’s gone from zero, to one of the most well known names in the UK bass / house hybrid in just a few years. Crossing the boundaries between commercial and more underground sounds has seen him step from gig to gig across international borders.
Best known for this one, I Wanna Feel reached number 1 in the UK singles chart when it was released in December 2014 on Ministry of Sound. This piano led house track quickly became an anthem in many dancefloors across the land and beyond.
Secondcity & Tyler Rowe – I Enter. The combination of a dirty subb bass and reaching vocal makes this the perfect track for any sweat box.
Nice video on this one too, love the sticky note animation ☺
And check out this one he did with Route 94 called Freak.
Speaking to Ministry of Sound he talks about his influences:
“There are so many. There’s the obvious ones like Frankie Knuckles , MK and all those guys that were making the classic 90s tunes. Then there’s the other side of it which is more the kind of tech house stuff like Nic Fancuilli and Joris Voorn.”
