Cocoon London is back again, and after the success of the first one, we’re itching to get Sven Vath and co back in Building Six. Next time should be a truckload of fun, especially now as we have mobilee’s very own Anja Schneider and Ralf Kollmann spearheading an attack on Cocoon from room two! It’s going to be hard to pick which room to stay in, but then you wouldn’t want to stay in the same one all night would you!? Here’s an intro to the backgrounds of the Cocoon artists playing, we’ll do a mobilee special next week.
With a few more support acts still to be announced, we’re delighted to be able to announce Timo Maas and Tim Green on the bill. Timo Maas will play in the Cocoon vs. mobilee room, bringing with him years of experiences at the front of Europe’s house and techno scene. A production career that has seen him succeed with a number of projects for video games, TV shows and commercial is a testament to the talent he has. However, for Timo his focus and passion remains very much on his dance-floor driven productions, seeking inspiration from the best clubs in the world. Paying not to much attention to the boundaries of genre, his love for so many different styles of music leaves him to interpret them in his own way. The overall result of this is dance music that has the freshness and substance to make it as easily listenable at home as in the club. Not one to rest on his laurels in the studio Timo thrives on his experience in clubs whether he is DJing or playing a live set.
Tim Green is another producer that embraces the philosophy of an eclectic approach in his sets. Whether he’s playing a pinch of minimal techno, warm deep house or throwing in something a little different, he’s constantly trying to think outside the box. This attitude has allowed him to effortlessly manoeuvre through the realms of house and techno with a charm and elegance that’s not seen often. Refusing to follow the rules in his music making won him best breakthrough DJ for DJ Mag back in 2010, and he has lived up to the hype with releases on Cocoon, Get Physical, Saved, Four:Twenty. His talent is reflected in his versatility in the studio and behind the decks which has seen him release on Claude Von Stoke’s bassier outfit Dirtybird. Tim certainly is hot at the moment…Riding high off the success he has had in 2013 when he launched his own label Disc Over Music, plus writing the summer hit Halftone’ which was released on Get Physical Music and reached the beatport top10 in July.
With Sven Vath on his annual world tour, this Cocoon will be an almost homecoming for Sven who now resides in this wonderful city. It’s hard to put into words just how Sven captures a crowd, but for those that were still dancing strong at 6am last time – you know how he does it! Few Djs can keep a crowds attention as effortlessly and with as much ease as Sven Vath.
