Craig David – “I can’t wait to bring ‘TS5’ to Boundary Brighton! Trust me it’s going to go off big time!”
Few artists have managed to have the success in multiple decades as Craig David. A hugely influential part of Garage’s explosion into the mainstream during the noughties, his album Born To Do It brings back a lot of nostalgia and happy memories for many. Selling 8 million copies worldwide, and getting 4 top 10 singles in the UK charts, whilst people were still buying CDs is testament to how great a piece or work this album is.
Enough of the past, it’s too easy to talk about tracks like 7 days, Fill Me In and Re-Rewind; when Craig’s sound has evolved into a new and exciting era; that’s once again caught the attention of the masses. Sprawning from his roots of RnB and garage Craig David’s TS5 shows a development into new unexplored avenues. Building on his Miami based radio show launched just after the turn of the decade, hype around Craig began spiral this side of the pond last year after a live lounge appearance with Kurupt Fm and Big Narstie.
It wasn’t long before Big Narstie linked with the man himself on this track, which is set to become one of the soundtracks of the summer festival season; having already been on heavy rotation.
The one above is known as the “Raver’s Edition”, but for a more laidback approach listen to this SBTV acoustic version.
More recently Craig has collaborated with Blonde for this bass driven house sounding track.
