When a DJ has been active on the scene for nearly 30 years and his popularity hasn’t decreased a bit, you know you’re dealing with a legend. There isn’t any more suitable title for Sasha. Born in Wales, Sasha’s first music encounter was playing the piano as a child. The influences of this early adventure can be spotted in some of his melodic tunes up until today. His first steps as a DJ in a local pub led him to the first milestone in his long-lasting career: residency at Shelly’s Laserdome in Stoke-on-Trent. His piano-led electronic house sound stood out amongst other artists which resulted in frequently sold-out events. But Shelly’s was only the first step that sparkled a series of achievements.
Sasha has also remained in close relationship with Renaissance, which resulted in the launch of label’s separate wing, an exclusive outlet solely for his productions – emFire.
His electronic house mixed with progressive trance sound is frequently appreciated by thousands all around the world. Sasha is renowned for bringing an exceptional experience to his audience, focusing on the emotional side of live music. His talent and original take on existing tunes has been praised by influential musicians of all genres, with Madonna, Chemical Brothers and Hot Chip requesting his remixes. He even has a PlayStation’s Wipeout 3 soundtrack on his artistic account!
Up to today, Sasha is in constant travel around the world’s best venues and numerous festivals and not taking any time off since almost three decades he remains one of UK’s innovative artists. His label Last Night On Earth was only founded in 2011, but has defined the sounds of his recent work more appropriately. Having released the like of Ejeca, Simon Baker and more he is supporting the new breed of electronic producer whilst providing a forward thinking platform for his own productions. With consistent and quality output the label is changing the landscape of electronic music from it’s grassroots.
