Tom Trago’s relationship with music has always been particularly intense. Whether he’s sat in the studio or immersing himself in Amsterdam or Rotterdam’s club scene, the music is always taking him to the next dimension. After producing three albums, Tom has continued on his assent, and is flying the flag for a new wave of Dutch electronic pioneers. Having been putting the work in with his label – Voyage Direct, he is collaborating with a range of free-spirited artists including William Kouam Djoko, House of Jezebel, Awanto,– to name a few of the locals. On top of that the mighty Carl Craig is another one to have releases on the imprint.
Voyage Direct has represented the best of emerging and established talent to have some out of the Dutch underground house scene since 2006. Nourishing the talents,Trago’s curation has accelerated an exciting time for him and his peers. Working closely with the likes of San Proper, Dexter & Legowelt there is plenty of ammunition in their punchy sounding deep house and techno.
It’s not a surprise that Tom is so high in demand. His enthusiasm for success, collaboration and taking things into new directions is parallel only to other like-minded musicians. Having swamped himself in hip-hop as a youngster, his beats are dripping with the same sophisticated swagger of house music’s long lost cousin. Embracing rhythmic drums with searching synths, electro stabs and effervescent shakers gives his productions an added glow.

In a free-spirited place he has immersed himself in music and has also regularly released on the legendary Rush Hour records. It’s this cross pollination of styles, sounds, labels and artists that is making the scene so fruitful at the moment. We’re looking forward to seeing how Tom evolves over the next year, and can’t wait for him to play at Acid Future.
