The secret is out! The full line-up for He.She.They.’s launch party at Ministry of Sound London on Saturday 24th February is now confirmed.
Event headliner Maya Jane Coles is fresh from trailblazing her way through DJ Mag’s end of year Best of British awards – taking home Best Producer and Best Album for 2017’s ‘Take Flight’. Maya is the perfect embodiment of the He.She.They. ethos: resolutely independent and possessing multi-disciplinary creative attributes. An artist who writes, produces, mixes, engineers and occasionally even lends her own vocals… and she even designs the cover artworks for releases on her I/AM/ME label. Impressive.
She is joined in The Box by BPitch founder, Ellen Allien. Like Maya, Ellen is a total creative all-rounder: DJ, musician, fashion house, label manager; Ellen is responsible for pioneering the evolution of electronic music both in her native Germany and worldwide.
Opening duties fall to electronic music royalty Satoshi Tomiie. From his legendary collaboration with Frankie Knuckles, ‘Tears’, to his output on Kaoz Theory and his own Abstract Architecture, Satoshi might not be a DJ you’re overly familiar with, but trust us on this one!
Rounding-off proceedings in the main room Wax Wings and Warboy go B2B.
In the 103 Hyperdub’s Scratcha DVA is joined by Swamp 81 favourite Mickey Pearce, London duo Maze & Masters, and chart-topping Special Guest: KDA. London-based party-starter The Menedez Brothers bring a touch of hip-hop to Room 3, alongside Barely Legal and Emerald. Finally, Travesty host the Baby Box celebrating Jonathan Bestley’s birthday.
He.She.They. is the new collaborative concept between LWE and The Weird & The Wonderful.
Can you remember when dance music culture was all about breaking down barriers, rather than building them? When it didn’t matter who you were just as long as you were friendly and you could be yourself? We can. And we feel it’s high time to return to those inclusive, ideological roots. From DJs to performers, He.She.They. is about giving those who push boundaries a platform, and we invite our partygoers to push their own boundaries.
Remember: you only live once!
It’s far better to regret the things you have done, than the things you haven’t…
