LWE Mix Competition Winner Announced

12/06/13

After some stiff competition and over 100 entries from across the UK and even as far as Venezuala, we have selected the winner for the LWE 3rd Birthday mix competition.

Congratulations to XY-Me on winning a warm up slot in the LWE vs Cadenza room at the event on the 6th July. He’ll be setting the tone for the likes of Dinamo Azari (DJ set from Dinamo of Azari & III), Chez Damier. The mix is up in LWE mix series, and he’ll receive Pro-Producer Course http://www.pointblankonline.net/courses/pro-producer-courses.php from the guys at Point Blank too.

We went for XY-Me as we were impressed that the mix featured a number of his own productions, and some other great records that show both a cultured taste in electronic music and that he has mastered the are of warming up. HE DIDN’T FAIL TO DISAPPOINT ON THE NIGHT!

“XY-Me is the brainchild of DJ and producer John-Paul Denton, born as a remedy to release and DJ his more underground tinged musical wares.

Originally from Newcastle and now living in London he is forging a path forward in the dance music scene with his latest release’s finding favour with the likes of Daniel Avery, Jacques Renault, Tim Paris and Justin Robertson.

His DJing and productions are a melting pot of strong hooks, playful melodies and rolling percussion, always guaranteed to get a floor moving.
