Ahead of the Innervisions London showcase at the Royal Albert Hall this September, producer and selector Marcus Worgull gives his thoughts upon the prodigious event.
“It is quite rare for an artist to have already planned out or brought their attention to a single DJ set weeks – or months – before the event happens. In the case of this upcoming show, however, I am frequently thinking about it often.
I will definitely be playing some of my own productions, and I will certainly play special versions and edits just for this event. It feels exciting and irritating at the same time; why should we play a venue like this, when it is not going to be a proper rave – not even at any certain point?
And on the other hand, why should we not play at a venue like this?! It is such a unique opportunity that we have to give it a try – and it is going to be special on many, many levels!“
Marcus appeared on Boiler Room in Berlin last year for Muting the Noise; catch a feel for his performance at the Royal Albert Hall below.
Marcus Worgull joins Âme, Dixon, Henrik Schwarz, Bugge Wesseltoft, Howling and Nina Kurtela for Innervisions London on Friday 21st September.
