Nicole Moudaber returns to Drumcode Halloween! The London-based artist has sporadically appeared on the lineup in the six years, we’ve been doing the shows and is always sorely missed when she’s not been on the bill. We’re delighted to have her back at Tobacco Dock for the 2016 edition, and she’ll no doubt be one of the highlights of the day.
With her trademark shock of untamed dark hair, the Nigeria-born artist can be spotted in a DJ booth by profile alone, rocking crowds before she even drops a record. Despite being based in London most of the year, she spends a substantial amount of time in New York supporting NYC’s Lower Eastside Girls Club, which helps disadvantaged young women access the tools they need to pursue their passion for music. But in the DJ booth is where she belongs… press play on the below for a sunkissed set that’ll get you in the mood to groove.
Revered as one of the most engaging and enchanting techno DJs on the planet, Nicole is an important party of the genre’s tapestry. She was monumental in building the underground electronic community in a post-war Beirut as a promoter; before being drawn to the dizzy lights of London to master her first craft. Some will remember her time running the Soundworx room at Turnmills, at her Gallery parties; but it wasn’t until some year’s later that she focused on her obsession of becoming an artist. Her ascension in this time has been nothing but astronomical; establishing herself as one of Ibiza’s biggest draws, setting up her own label, Mood Records; and playing with a smile on her face wherever she goes. Listen to her RA exchange from November 2015 for a deeper insight into her journey and what makes her tick.
