Ninja Tune at 25

It’s hard to actually pinpoint how influential Ninja Tune have been in music, with a history that passes through a number of generations, eras and musical revolutions. More recently the likes of Bonobo have used the heritage of the label to compliment their own style, and propel them into the dizzy heights they’ve reached. However, the success of the label is much deeper than this group that represents a recent shine in their glowing crown… Ninja Tune, have always set the bar high, having harnessed the talents of some of electronic music’s most avant-garde artists for decades.

Here’s one of their recent success stories…

With a wide variety of styles the independent record label in home to the finest experimental artists including The Cinematic Orchestra, The Roots, Floating Points, Seven Davis Jr, Kelis, Kid Koala, Martyn and many more. Through affiliated labels including Big Dada, NTone, Brainfeeder and Girls Music, the movement supports a vide variety of acts from Wiley to Diplo, Kate Tempest to DJ Q. Leaving few stones unturned musically, the label have kept the ethos of originality and fresh creations at the core of what their about. With each release and artist sounding unique, they’ve managed to create a distinctive “Ninja Tune” feel through artwork, PR and a certain level of quality.

LEAF are delighted to have a special panel at LEAF Conversations on 6th March 2015, with a handpicked selection of guests who will discuss where the label was ‘then’ and where it is ‘now.’ You’ll be able to ask open-ended questions to label artist and bass music tastemaker Toddla T, who will sit alongside the talented Andreya Triano and label owner/co-founder Peter Quick.
