Presenting Old Fountain Studios…

At LWE we’re continuously on the hunt for the next big thing, scouring all corners of the capital for spaces. We take pride in throwing events in unique, industrial settings and we’ve dug out a new location for them. After weeks of speculation we can finally reveal that the event space is Old Fountain Studios in Wembley. The former television studio located in Wembley Park in the thick of North West London is the perfect blank canvas.

Some of the stark features of the building include rusted walkways, barbed-wire fences and looming ceilings. These unrefined elements give an gritty, unpolished feel – an event space with character. It feels a million miles away from being pristine, sanitised and corporate – exactly what we look for in a potential industrial venue.

Our Head of Production, Loz Poulton, had this to say about the new venue:
“With its previous life as a TV and film studio it has a range of rigging capabilities where we can fix a substantial L-Acoustics soundsystem over the dancefloor. We’ll also be flying trussing with a complex tessellating lighting design, which I’m super excited about, not to mention the installation of over 85 lasers.”

The launch party at Old Fountain Studios will be a Cuttin’ Headz showcases, featuring an extended set from label-heads The Martinez Brothers. They be joined by Arkityp (AKA Fuse London’s Rossko & Archie Hamilton, Cadenza’s Argy and Matt Tolfrey. Tickets for the Sunday 6th May show over May Day Bank Holiday are on sale now.

The second event sees the return of an old friend. Paul Kalkbrenner is readying to drop his eighth studio album, Parts Of Life. To coincide with the release, the renowned German techno performer is heading on a world tour where he will play a series of more intimate gigs. Although Old Fountain Studios set to be the biggest capacity of the entire tour, we’re expecting demand to outweigh supply. Tickets for the Thursday 10th May show can be found here.
