Preview: 2020Vision

2020Vision burst onto the London party scene in 2010 with a series of infamous sold out day / night parties, including the legendary Shoreditch Underground Station party, Loft Studios and several at Village Underground. This summer they are set to continue the legacy of bringing in forward thinking artists with some of the scenes biggest players, all finished off with amazing locations and bespoke production from LWE.  This new day and night experience will take place on the last May Bank holiday weekend, offering a marathon of the best in house and techno and everything that falls inbetween. Not one to leave your stomachs empty the outdoor terraced daytime party will offer a variety of caterers to keep the rumble away.

At the top of the menu will be Greg Wilson. Few have single-handily helped pioneer a scene from the unknown to the next big thing as Greg did with Electro Funk in the UK. After introducing and help to get it moving in the early eighties he mysteriously quit DJing for 20 years.

On his return, Greg quickly re-established himself with shows at The Electric Chair, Horse Meat Disco, Fabric, back to basics, Ministry Of Sound, Asylum and the Sub Club, to name but a few.  In 2005 Tirk Records released ‘Credit to the Edit’, a compilation of re-edits that led to Greg being hailed as both the pioneer and king of the DJ edit scene. 2020Vision then released a Greg Wilson mix album featuring new edits and versions.  In 2008 Greg went truly global with dates in Japan, Australia and Brazil, the US.  Greg is now a firm favourite on the festival circuit with frequent appearances at Glastonbury, Bestival, The Garden and many more.  In January 2009 Greg’s reputation was further enhanced when his Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 became something of an instant classic, receiving universal acclaim and was selected as one of 10 classics mixes that spanned the show’s history. It is always a pleasure to have Greg play at 2020Vision and this time he closes the party to make sure we all leave home with a smile on our faces!

Ralph Lawson is best known for his residency at the legendary back to basics club in Leeds and his 2020Vision label. Lawson has been a regular at Fabric London since it opened, mixing Fabric 33. RL has been resident DJ for We Love Space in Ibiza and The Loft in Barcelona where he has also appeared regularly at Sonar Festival. He has played at Panorama Bar, Watergate and Wilde Renate in Berlin as well as spinning at Robert Johnson, Cocoon and Harry Klein in Germany.

Lawson has a long history in New York including playing at the original Sound Factory Bar, The Limelight and Cielo and was one of a handful of DJs to play for Danny Tenaglia at his ‘Be Yourself’ parties at Vinyl. He recently headlined Robot Heart in Brooklyn. Lawson has toured the world and played at the cream of clubs including -The Hacienda, The Sub Club, Womb, D-Edge Brazil and major festivals like Glastonbury, T in The Park,  Global Gathering, 10 Days Off and many more. Lawson has produced classic house music with Blaze, Chez Damier, Arthur Baker, Josh Wink and many more. Ralph plays two sets for our day / night party in May!

Citizen is one of the hottest young producers in London right now.  He finished off an incredible 2013 by winning the award for Best Breakthrough DJ at the DJ magazine awards.  He also managed to chalk up big singles on Kerri Chandler’s Madtech imprint, Waze & Odyssey’s Street Tracks and a debut on Love Fever.  His remix of Ellie Goulding has been played nearly 250,000 on Soundcloud and his remix of Maya Jane Coles also hit six figure numbers.  His classic take on house music has it’s own energy and atmosphere which will shortly be presented onto his debut long player for 2020Vision.  Watch this clip from Boiler Room to see what this chap is about…

Psychemagik’s first appearance on wax was an edit of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Everywhere’, which quickly found its way into the record bags of taste makers like Tom Middleton and Greg Wilson. Including two US tours. They recently released an album of mixes and edits and are masters of rocking parties with rare records no one else has.
