Rebel Rave Preview

Living in L.A., London born DJ, label owner, and musician, Damian Lazarus is massively respected in the house scene. Discovering electronic music at university, in his teens he grew up listening to hip-hop, electro, soul and funk, with influences from his grandfather still remnant today. He is widely experienced in the music industry considering his diverse career, going from being a music editor to head of A&R of City Rockers label, to then have his own big break as a DJ in 2002 playing at Sonar Festival in Barcelona. He founded Crosstown Rebels in 2003 offering all kinds of unique and twisted angles on cutting edge electronic music.

Ashique ‘Subb-an’ Subhan musical career has been continuously rising since he began DJing at just 14 years old, to then enroll onto a digital music production course at 16. At Birmingham City University, where he graduated with a top degree in sound design, Subb-an and friends founded Below, one of the UK’s most cherished underground clubbing institutions, which has seen the likes of Sven Vath, Loco Dice and Jamie Jones (to name a few) since, also where Subb-an had his own residency and himself became known as a local hero. He has now set up his own label ‘One Records’ with Adam Shelton and is successively known as one of the most exiting new British live acts. Keep an eye out for his album at the end of the year.

Matthew Jonson

Incredibly creative and unpredictable with his sound, growing up with a father working in sound technology, Matthew has been fiddling around on synthesizers since the age of 9. He studied classical piano and jazz drumming as a kid, and has in fact started learning the piano again to add even more to his music. Evolving in this kind of dynamic lead him to be a part of the group Cobblestone Jazz, (now set up as Cobblestone Jazz’ European headquarters – in Berlin, by himself and de la Plante, which can be renowned for offering an eclectic and unique range of music). After which his own personal sound in production and DJing advanced further inspired by deeper sounds filtering into the techno scene. Today with Wagon Repair and Cobblestone Jazz, Matthew always has something going on along with a strong team of musicians and talent.

Clive Henry

Previously, a member of the West London House Mafia, Clive Henry has been DJing since his school days. Though originally going to local hip-hop nights, his music is massively influenced by London’s early acid house scene that he was introduced to in 1988. Going from holding his own nights, to playing at his own nights, he became recognized and sought after to play at other clubs. Ten years later he founded the discernible tech house label Low Pressings with Justin Drake and after stumbling across DC10 in 2000 during his annual summer visits to Ibiza, Clive became a regular feature of the club. It was amid his residency at DC10 where he met Damian Lazarus and was instantly brought into the Crosstown Rebels family.
