Your wish has been granted… due to popular demand, LWE favourite Richy Ahmed is the first act announced to be joining us in the township at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park this August. Having missed-out last year, this will mark his Elrow Town debut. That said, Richy is no stranger to elrow! Last summer he was a regular part of the fun and frolics on Amnesia’s terrace, and he even took over the club room for several all-night-long sets. Back on UK soil, he has been involved numerous times, including this stand-out set at a SOLD-OUT Tobacco Dock from early 2017.
Richy needs little introduction. As part of a generation of North East DJs who broke-through at the end of the noughties, he formed an integral part of the Hot Creations camp alongside fellow Geordies Patrick Topping & wAFF. Under the tutelage of Jamie Jones, the collective exported their product from East London to the Balearic shores of DC10, whilst being instrumental in ushering in the deep house era.
After years running the A&R for Jamie, Richy decided to go out on his own in 2016, launching a label in his own guise: Four Thirty Two. Shying away from the tech house sound which he had grown synonymous with, Four Thirty Two would act as a hotbed for burgeoning talent, as well as a home for Richy’s darker material. Since launching the project, his popularity has soared to new heights and endeared him further to a generation of partygoers.
Elrow Town returns to London on Saturday 18th August. Expect the bar to be raised even higher for 2018 – the BIGGEST Rowshow to take place in the WORLD, to date! As with the first year, expect a fully immersive festival with an A-list line-up playing to a capacity crowd from a custom-designed stage, as actors, giant puppets and enormous inflatables dazzle attendees beneath a monsoon of streamers.
