Sundays at The Wick, Hackney

After 2014’s runaway success, Liz Mendez and Sonia Anderson have returned with The Wick’s alternative marketplace, which will be back showcasing all things creative at the charismatic and unique Old Roman Baths in Hackney. Having started on the 3rd of May the series will run each Sunday through until the 25th of October; with our 2020Vision event taking place on the next bank holiday Sunday this May. Liz says “It’ll bring together the best of style, gourmet food, and music, and will be a mini-festival for the community,” With a lot of variety from week to week, the wick is picking up some real heat, and the weather for the 2020Vision event is looking amazing too.

Over the course of the summer you can expect quirky summer vibes from the artificial beach featuring a Tiki bar, hot tub and food shacks. Various stalls will be set up to house designer and vintage clothing, interior decor, handcrafted arts and street food from all over the world. Don’t forget the little ones are welcome at some events too, as Kid’s Day will be catering to the needs of the children through musical and crafty activities throughout the event.

The Boutique Market will be home to a rotation of traders ranging from vintage to young designers including Dancing Leopard, Nina Baker, Miss Goodweather, Dry Cry, Love and Wear, Lucy in Disguise, The Gypset Diary and many more.

Tibiri, Mama Jerk, Mission Mariscos, Taste That, and Pizza Surgery will be at hand to provide the finest street food to cater to all tastes. Each week a variety of DJs and bands will be providing the soundtrack to the market well into the evening with Kubicle, Keep On Going, Lois and the Love, and many more though out the summer.

As mentioned before, we’ll be teaming up with 20/20 Vision to showcase their talents on the 24th May bank holiday Sunday – definitely not one to be missed. Expect a whole myriad of dreamy summer sounds that float from disco to house and techno.
