Large scale day parties have generally been associated with something for the summer, largely due to the British weather. But on the first day of 2014 (a cold and bitter one), thousands of party people descended on Tobacco Dock for the beginning of a new London tradition – Day time parties all year round. Fast forward almost a year and a half on from that date, and we look back at some of the memories from the two LWENYD events, Drumcode Halloween, LEAF, Summer In The City and most recently ENTER.
Here’s a look at some of the highlights from the Tobacco Dock shows.
Anja Schneider has become a firm favourite with the LWE regulars and has already played at Tobacco Dock three times. Listen to her set from NYD 2014 here.

Summer In The City 09/08/14
On a scorching day last August we called in Pimm’s to bring in a rooftop garden on a day that saw Damian Lazarus and his Crosstown crew bring in an amazing Rebel Rave to the car park. Not forgetting Groove Armada, and Sneak giving us all a schooling in the main room… listen to the Groove Armada mix here:
Drumcode Halloween 01/11/14
Marking five years of Halloween fueled debauchery with their biggest show yet, this was a very special show, on what has become the most talked about date in London’s techno calendar. The lineup was ridiculous, and as usual the outfits were just as fitting. Too many unforgettable moments at this one with the Awakenings crew joining too.
Maya Jane Coles, Art Department, The Martinez Brothers, Subb-an, Matt Tolfrey, Heidi, Visionquest, Benoit & Sergio (Live) Kim Ann Foxman, Guti (Live) took London to a whole new level on the first day of the year. Special Guest Anja Schnedier was not revealed until the day and announced her residency with LWE.
LEAF 7th/8th March 2015
From LEAF Conversations, to LEAF Concert & of course LEAF Club; Tobacco Dock saw a whole host of musical pioneers old and new visit the space over 2 days. Too many names to mention!
ENTER. London 11/04/15
This was the first ENTER. Event in London; and included some of our locals including Hot Since 82 and Maya Jane Coles. Listen to this back-to-back set recorded live from the car park’s techno dungeon!
