Sustainability

Sustainability

In 2023, Our plan was to go ‘beyond net zero’within three years, reducing emissions wherever possible, offsetting where we couldn’t, and investing in nature, people and community.

Whilst the number of show days increased, and overall emissions alongside this, we have:

  • Improved performance, reducing emissions per visitor day, waste, fossil fuel use and food impacts.

  • Offset 100% of operational emissions with verified carbon removals

  • Balanced audience travel with verified carbon offsets

And, we have gone beyond this, working with audience and artists to invest in nature projects, our local park’s ecosystem, and the community.

For 2026, we will continue to improve our operations to reduce our impacts. We will also focus more on our community benefit and build a strong people and planet commitment.

Our impacts and actions

As a live event, we recognise that our key areas of environmental impact and actions include:

Travel emissions from audience, suppliers and artist international travel

  • Continue to identify energy efficiency measures for sharing power across site with our contractor, Power Revolution

  • Power the Woods stage with a pre-charged battery saving 68% of energy versus a diesel generator

  • Continue to offset our event energy, waste and food emissions, that we can’t reduce, through a carbon removal scheme with onboard:earth

  • In 2026, we aim to have 10% of energy from renewable forms (e.g. wind, solar or kinetic energy)
